2012 List: Every car I drove this year
Continuing my douchey humblebrag list of cars I’ve driven in the past year, here is my list for 2012. Same disclaimer applies: some I drove for ten minutes, some for a week.
Up until just two-and-a-half years ago, the most powerful car I had ever driven had 315 horsepower (BMW M Coupe). Thanks to greater opportunities, and ever-soaring horsepower figures in this crazy age we live in, that number has been topped countless times in some unexpected ways. What I’ve been up to
It’s been busy. My DeLorean photo ended up in the Houston Chronicle, which was a huge thrill. I recently had a rained-out track day at MSR Cresson, and I reviewed and photographed a Volkswagen Eos.
Why does Volkswagen Group hate rear-wheel drive?
I like rear-wheel drive. It’s purer, simpler and direct exposure fills your head with unrealistic delusions of man-over-machine heroics. On Evo’s Top 10 Greatest Drivers’ Cars, eight were RWD. So why does Volkswagen, our soon-to-be #1 global sales overlords, hate it?
